Embracing Writing Again: My Journey from Paper to Mobile, Desktop and Beyond

I want to write again, but now I've become more accustomed to using my mobile phone to jot down thoughts. However, I still enjoy the traditional method of writing on paper. Whatever the case, not having a laptop should never stop me from posting or writing from anywhere.

It's been a while, everyone. After many years, I'm back to writing and doing the routines I've longed for.

I didn’t want to post a lot because what I was writing felt too personal and real, and I didn’t want to express my content through a straightforward moral lens. So, I thought I could create a story of my own based on personal experiences and the lessons life has taught me so far. For starters, I’m going to hit 34 this September.

I’m pretty sure my previous audience consisted mostly of my childhood friends or relatives, with a few others, as I wasn’t consistent enough in adding content.

Anyway, let’s now focus globally. I mean, I can write stories and maybe publish them in two main languages for now, Tamil and English. We can get them reviewed and translated into other languages as well.

By the way, a bit about me: I’m from Asaripallam, a village in Kanyakumari District, India. I enjoy riding my bicycle and taking pictures of the places I live in. Let me share what I’ve posted on Instagram and other platforms.

Currently, I’m working remotely from my lush green district, thanks to Lenovo.com. Yes, I’m a Senior Optimization Developer. My office is in Bengaluru, but I don’t want to go there 365 days a year. Well, I do miss zipping through Bengaluru’s traffic on a bike; I haven’t experienced much of that in Bengaluru.

Apart from development and working with computers, I enjoy all forms of riding and driving. I’m personally a big fan of the 64 forms of Ayakalai (ஆயகலை) . Even though I don’t know much about these arts, this part of my journey is about learning as much as possible from the present situation.

Well, we are very fortunate. I guess the new generation will learn these arts in much more advanced ways. Now, I mean, we have a lot of games in the Olympics. No worries, I’ve recently been learning a lot about Tamil and Ancient Tamil Culture from ChatGPT and the Clubhouse App, which might inspire me to include these in my writings.

Apart from cycling and photography, I love learning about history. I do meditation—not daily, but mostly when I’m active. I try to meditate at least three times a day, and I believe everyone should try it at least once for a mindful life. Even though the term "mindfulness" originates from Western culture and has become popular, it has roots in the East [Not sure, can you verify and add?]. But whatever the case, I’ve liked trying and exploring new things over these 10 years, which may have shaped me into a different person. You might notice this in my upcoming posts.

Morning Sunrise in Lotus Pond
Morning Sunrise

Let me give you a quick sneak peek into today. I woke up around 5:36 AM and started my morning ritual and meditation. Then, I went cycling. I traveled almost 11 km in 45 minutes around Nagercoil town. Initially, I took a sharp turn at Thalappakatti and went to Kallungu Junction,Ramanputhur then straight to Thambathu Konam. Meanwhile, I enjoyed a refreshing tender coconut in Ramanputhur; it was a nice and fresh experience, especially when the water is naturally sweet.

After passing Konam Government School, I took the Gurukulam Sallai road to reach Ananadhan Pallam Junction and then got back home.

As usual, I was on the Clubhouse app while riding, listening to the Thirukkural Club and some beautiful Tamil poems in the morning. Trust me, if you don’t know what your spiritual path is or what moral science to follow, this book is accepted by people of all religions; it’s called "Ullaga Pothumarai" (உலகப் பொதுமறை) in Tamil . You can expect to get some insights about this book every now and then later.

Otherwise, I’m watching House of the Dragon in the series. Alright, enough for today. See you tomorrow. Meanwhile, if you want to ask me anything, please feel free to add a comment. If you want me to write about any topic, let me know.

Odiyur Lake

Whenever I used to drive in ECR I always wanted to blog about this place. It is Odiyur a village 52 Km from Pondicherry and 90 Km from Chennai. Why am I talking about this village? Actually not about this village it is about the lake in this village. Odiyur Lake is a boon for most of the photographers, people who love fishing and bird watching. People who travel to Pondicherry from Chennai, Odiyur Lake serve as a perfect relaxing spot. One of the biggest lakes you can find between ECR (East Coast Road). Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation has planted Mudaliyarkuppam Boat House(Now called as Raindrop Boat House ) in Odiyur back waters. The boat house stands out from others in Tamil Nadu by offering Jet Ski and Kayaking in additional to Row boats, Banana rides and Speed boats.  Raindrop Boat House -Jet Ski They have this package of 600 bucks per person with complimentary banana ride, few kayaks, veg and non veg lunch and finally a trip inside a island kinda pl...

Kookal a Bliss to Explore

This old man has no need for a big job, no corporate life, no traffic, and no deadlines. Life is about relaxing for him. This photo, taken over eight years ago in the serene village of Kookal in Kodaikanal, captures a moment of pure tranquility. In 2024, I revisited this hidden gem with my wife, mom, and driver. Although we couldn’t spot the old man, we found the place still brimming with its unique charm. Once a well-kept secret, Kookal has now been exposed to the world through Instagram and other social media platforms. Despite this, it remains relatively uncrowded, preserving its small-village allure. Kookal is a gateway to heaven. As we ventured deeper, we discovered many simple nature resorts, resembling huts. These aren’t luxurious five-star accommodations, but their beauty surpasses even the most opulent seven-star hotels. Although we couldn’t stay overnight, I was thrilled to let my family explore and feel the essence of Kodaikanal’s beauty.
